UNM recognized for being environmentally friendly

University of New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) –  The University of New Mexico is on the list as one of the most environmentally responsible colleges in the country.

That’s according to the newly-released Princeton Review’s Guide to Green Colleges. Schools on the list were chosen by their sustainability-related policies, practices and programs.

UNM’s initiatives include an increase in solar energy on campus, campus-wide recycling and campus community gardens.

Next Tuesday, there will be a sustainability expo at Cornell Mall, east of the student union building. It includes a growers’ market, arts and crafts, and food trucks. That begins at 10:30 in the morning.
