ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) –  Developers hit a major construction milestone at a one-of-a-kind community.

All of the businesses’ buildings are constructed with shipping containers. The first set of shipping containers arrived on-site at Green Jeans Farmery on Friday.

Green Jeans Farmery is a community of local businesses anchored by Santa Fe Brewing Tasting Room.

Business owners are excited to be moving in.

“Originally it was just the concept and the idea. I loved it. I mean using a recycled product and building something new out of it. It’s a really innovative idea,” said Gabriel Amador, business owner.

Some of the other businesses will include Epiphiny Espresso and Bocadillos Slow Roasted Sandwiches. There will also be a hydroponic farm on site and businesses will be able to use the produce grown there.

They hope to be fully open by this summer.
