ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Nob Hill in Albuquerque is a popular part of the city, but there is one big drawback, finding parking.

“It is tricky. You have to at least budget ten minutes for driving around,” said Jane Fazio.

“It can be hard,” said Katherine Juarez. “You want to usually take a lot of people in your car and then park kind of far usually.”

Others make up their own rules, parking in loading zones or on private property like at video production house, Field & Frame, across the street from Tractor Brewing Company.

“A lot of times if people are coming for food trucks or the bar, they think we’re closed and they’ll just park in our driveway,” said Alan Fulford, Field & Frame owner.

“This traffic will go all the way up,” said Nora Carter, a Nob Hill resident. “Between Kelly’s Brew Pub and Tractor brewery there, we just don’t stand a chance.”

Carter said she has lived in the area for more than 30 years.

“Sometimes, we as residents want to say, ‘We live here! We’re residents. We need to be here,’” Carter said. “It is just difficult when they don’t seem to care. I can’t park in my driveway sometimes.”

The city said there are no plans for new parking in the area.

However, many neighbors, workers and visitors to Nob Hill say something needs to change.

“I know that Nob Hill overall is good for the economy of Albuquerque, and I understand there are a lot of businesses here and they need people to come down here to visit, but it would be great to have a parking structure,” Carter said.
