Lobos outlast Grand Canyon

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Ray Birmingham’s University of New Mexico baseball team dropped Grand Canyon 7 to 3 Tuesday in the first of a pair of games scheduled for the teams. Carl Stajduhar had a three-run homer in the third. Standujar went 2 for 4 with a double.

Cory Voss started the Lobos scoring with a solo shot in the second inning. The Lobos jumped out to a 7 to nothing advantage before GCU scored a run. The Antelopes got all of their three runs in the 7th inning. The Antelopes out hit the Lobos 14 to 8 in the loss. The Lobos improved to 20 and 15 and have won four straight ball games.

The two teams play their final game of the midweek series Wednesday at 3 p.m.
