ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Public School Board voted on the naming rights for the APS Community Football Stadium Wednesday night.
The board approved the name change and the stadium will now be called Nusenda Credit Union Community Stadium, along with associated marketing opportunities. This name change will bring in some of the funding that APS needs.
“We proudly support Albuquerque Public Schools and are honored to further demonstrate our strong commitment to education and the local community with this agreement,” said Terry Laudick, CEO of Nusenda Credit Union. “The stadium partnership reflects our ongoing focus on improving educational achievement and demonstrates our continuing commitment to New Mexico educators, staff, parents and students.”
Nusenda will now pick up the $79,800 annual fee for the stadium for eight years with an option for a renewal. That money would go to the district and the APS foundation for unfunded sports and academics.
APS is expected to sign the documents Thursday.
