“Canzobra” built for unusual Santa Fe competition

SANTA FE (KRQE) – A Santa Fe food-based competition has brought to life a canned creation almost as fearsome as the real Old Man Gloom.

A canned version of Zozobra is one of the entries in The Food Depot’s Canstruction competition. It was built in about seven hours by one of five teams battling.

Teams are allowed to use cans and other non-perishable items. Everything used will be given to The Food Depot afterward.

The contest entries are near the food court in Santa Fe Place and will be out for two weeks.

While judges will give out awards in several categories, the public gets to vote for their favorite too on The Food Depot’s website, smartphone app or the Canstruction Facebook page.
