Santa Fe County man charged with murder in Texas

Fort Davis, T.X. (KRQE) – An 18-year-old from Santa Fe is now charged with capital murder for killing his father in Texas.

Sheriff’s Deputies say Harlin Pierce shot his father last month in Fort Davis, Texas. According to court documents obtained by the Big Bend Sentinel Pierce stole $30,000, a will and a car from his father.

Pierce also left a note explaining why he killed his dad but investigators have not released that information.

Santa Fe County Deputies were concerned Pierce might make his way to New Mexico but he was caught in Virginia.
