Meet some of the vendors from the Downtown Growers Market

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Those at the Downtown Growers Market are starting things a whole month earlier this season. This year, they will kick-off on Saturday, April 18th. You will find plant starts, spring greens & roots, delicious baked goods, unique creations, hot food, live music, community nonprofits, and many of the familiar faces you’ve maybe seen around Albuquerque. Come out and celebrate the beginning of another season and explore the flavors and freshness of spring in Robinson Park, from 8 a.m. to noon every Saturday.

We met Lloyd Krietzer, known as the Fig Man, Dionne Christian with Revolution Bakery, and Christopher Fortson with Osceola Energy. Lloyd is one of the most prominent fig farmers in the area, you can always count on seeing him at the market. Dionne focuses on a gluten free approach in her baking, but does not skip on tastiness. Osceola Energy is actually going to be responsible for powering the market this season using solar energy, and Christopher filled us in on how all of that is going to work this year.

Be sure to head down to Robinson Park this market season.
