A Pacific storm system will pass just north of New Mexico through the day on Wednesday. The track through Colorado will help to crank up the winds across the state. Southwest wind gusts will top 40 miles per hour across most of New Mexico. Many areas along the northern mountains and west central sections are likely to have high wind warnings in place through the day Wednesday.
After the storm passes on Thursday cooler air filter into New Mexico. Temperatures will top out in the mid 60s with mostly sunny skies and far lighter winds. Temperatures moderate through the weekend with just the slightest chance of a shower across the east.
