Prom dress event benefits APS clothing bank

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Albuquerque high school girls will now have a place to pick out prom dresses.

A runway show was held to benefit Albuquerque Public School’s clothing bank. The event also had food, music and dancing.

There was also a car show that raised funds for the cause.

Admission was free but organizers asked participants to bring gently used prom dresses and tuxes.

Organizers say it is important for teens who can’t afford new school outfits to know they are supported.

This is the third year of the annual event.
