Weatherman and teacher George Fischbeck passes away

WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. (KRQE) – Famed New Mexico weatherman and face of science, George Fischbeck, has died.

Fischbeck was a teacher in Albuquerque during the 1950s where his unique teaching style led to a weekly science show for kids. Fischbeck was also the first inductee on Albuquerque’s Wall of Fame.

Fischbeck went on to be a beloved weatherman in Los Angeles during the 1970s and 1980s before retiring.
