UNM student organization raises money with dance marathon

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – There’s a marathon happening soon and it’s helping a great cause.

The University of New Mexico LoboTHON student organization will host its second annual dance marathon to benefit the UNM Children’s Hospital.

Participants will dance and stand for 13.1 hours to raise awareness and money to help save lives of the children being treated.

This all begins Saturday, March 28, and will go from noon until 1 a.m. in the UNM Johnson Recreational Center.

Organizers expect 750 to 1,000 participants to join in.

The student organization is looking to raise $62,000, where every dollar goes straight to the hospital.

The amount raised will not be revealed until the end of the marathon.

For those that cannot participate in the dancing, there is still a way to donate by visiting their website.
