Global Fashion Technologies

BELEN, N.M. (KRQE) – A plan to bring hundreds of jobs to Belen has fallen through. Global Fashion Technologies announced last fall they were moving its headquarters and manufacturing to the old Solo Cup factory. The company takes clothing scraps and makes them into new clothes. It was supposed to open next month and bring 300 new jobs with it. But now it looks like it’s not going to happen.

According to the News Bulletin, Global Fashion has not been able to fulfill the terms of its purchase agreement for the building and the contract has been terminated. There are reportedly other partners of Global Fashion trying to get the agreement re-established but right now the project is off. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
