ALAMOGORDO N.M. (KRQE) – Laura Killebrew’s son Paul is 4 years old. He has been going to the same babysitter at the same home daycare in Alamogordo for more than a year now. She says everything was great until she picked her son up last Thursday.
“She came out and told me that she had grab him at lunch because he had gagged and was going to throw up and she didn’t realize she had made a mark, and then I looked down and I saw the mark on his face and I was in shock,” said Killebrew.
Killebrew says that when she saw her son’s face covered in bruises, she called police. Alamogordo police filed a report. Now Killebrew is waiting to find out if there will be charges.
“I would hate for her to get overwhelmed again and take it out on another child. I know she’s not an evil person, but unfortunately I’m hoping to make an example for other parents to know that there is something we can do,” she said.
KRQE News 13 tried to speak with the babysitter, but she declined to comment. Two parents of other children did reach out in emails. They said that their children love their babysitter. One mom said that the boy was choking and she was just trying to help him. The other mother wrote that she knows that she did not hurt the little boy.
