Kristen’s Tuesday Afternoon Forecast

A soggy St. Patrick's Day for southern NM

TUESDAY: Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Afternoon temperatures will be 5-15 degrees cooler than what we felt Monday as a cold front continues to allow cooler air to fill in from the northeast. Showers will develop over southern New Mexico late this afternoon into this evening with a few thunderstorms in the mix over the far southwestern corner of the state. A few spot showers will creep further north with west-central and east-central NM looking at the possibility of a rogue shower. Winds will be noticeable today as our east canyon winds reach speeds +15mph, gusts +30mph.

WEDNESDAY: Mostly cloudy conditions will continue to blanket most of the state with showers possible over southern and central NM. A few thunderstorms are likely to be embedded within these showers. Afternoon temperatures will continue to fall with 50s and 60s expected state-wide.

THURSDAY & FRIDAY: Another system will provide the lift we need to get state-wide showers & storms going across the Land Of Enchantment. Slightly cooler temperatures will build in for the later end of the week with afternoon highs at or just below normal for this time of year.
