Another round of showers and thunderstorms are expected Friday afternoon across western and central New Mexico. A few stray showers may hold together long enough to make it into east-central New Mexico and Southeast Plains, however, shower coverage will be more extensive out west. Afternoon highs will drop another 2-5 degrees with significant cloud cover expected to hover over the state. A few leftover showers may linger into Saturday – particularly over the Northern Mountains. The majority of us can count on a drier, warming trend to kick in with mostly to partly sunny skies returning to the forecast. Sunday looks even better with clear, sunny skies seen state-wide with afternoon temperatures well above average for this time of year.
The start of our next work week will be just as pleasant with unseasonably warm temperatures and plenty of sunshine seen area-wide Monday and Tuesday.
