ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office has released video of a chase between deputies and a suspect that resulted in gunfire. Albuquerque Police Department’s Air One was flying over the South Valley last Tuesday as deputies were chasing the driver of a white van near Coors and Barcelona.

They were called to the area after residents reported that it looked suspicious. When deputies arrived, the driver, 33-year-old Danan Gabaldon took off. At one point his female passenger jumped out of the van and fled.

Officials say a deputy opened fire on Gabaldon after Gabaldon started driving toward him. The suspect was not hit and kept going. At one point in the video you can see deputies use a pit maneuver to bring the van to a stop at Isleta and Rio Bravo.

Gabaldon tried to flee on foot but deputies caught him. Deputies say the van Gabaldon was driving was stolen.

Police did eventually catch up with the woman who was with Gabaldon. She was identified as 30-year-old Crystal Francia. She was arrested for outstanding warrants.
