Albuquerque Tent City: Eviction notices given to residents

Tent City4_7

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Tent City residents have to pack up and move by Friday or go to court. Over the weekend, homeless campers set up near Lomas and I-25 on land owned by the Department of Transportation.

On Tuesday, DOT and state police served people with eviction notices alerting campers they have until 1:30 p.m. Friday to move out. This is the fourth location they have been evicted from and they are tired of moving.

Campers were evicted from a private lot last month. Before that, they were forced off a strip of land near the Rail Yards which is city land. No word on where they plan to move next.
