Voluntary boil water request lifted for Rio Rancho residents

boil water advisory

RIO RANCHO, N.M. (KRQE) –The City of Rio Rancho has lifted a voluntary boil water request for residents.

The boil water request was issued on March 2nd after a well pump failed near Northern Boulevard causing low water pressure for some residents. Officials said the water was not contaminated but residents should use caution and boil their water because of the low pressure.

Now that the request has been lifted, residents can now use the water for cooking and drinking without boiling first.
