Presbyterian hosts grand opening for Cancer Center

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Members of the community are invited to a grand opening event.

The first Cancer Resource Center as Presbyterian Kaseman Hospital in Albuquerque is having its grand opening Thursday, March 5, at 5 p.m.

Staffed by Presbyterian Healthcare Services and American Cancer Society volunteers, the Cancer Resource Center will provide resources, support, and information.

The employees and volunteers will assist patients in trying on wigs and scarves, find cancer care information online, transportation, and any support cancer patients need.

Free breast prostheses and bras to female cancer patients will also be provided. The prostheses and bras will be funded by the Nancy Floyd Haworth Foundation.

Volunteers are still needed. For more information on how to become involved, contact the Kaseman Program Manager of Volunteer Services, Melissa Gilbert at 505-291-2890.

The Cancer Resource Center is open Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The center is located at 8300 Constitution NE on the second floor.
