Homeless children displaced due to pipe bomb

TAOS, N.M. (KRQE) – Homeless children in Taos had to find a new place to stay while police searched for an explosive device in their shelter.

DreamTree Project employees called Taos police and told them they confiscated what they believed to be a pipe bomb.

A teenager told them it was a firecracker, but employees say it was larger than a glue stick and had wires sticking out of it.

Police removed the device and took the teenager into custody. They’re still investigating the incident.
