ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Police Department has faced a lot of criticism for its handling of situations. Now its officers are hoping to help residents walk a day in their shoes. Wednesday APD is taking Twitter users on a virtual ride along. The department spokesman is riding along with an officer tweeting out a play by play of an officer’s day.

APD hopes this Twitter ride along will help citizens better understand what they deal with on a day to day basis. It’s just one of many programs APD started recently in an effort to better connect with the community. The twitter feed runs until 11:00 p.m. To take part just follow APD on Twitter.
