Lobo women continue to roll


ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The good times continue for Yvonne Sanchez and her University of New Mexico Lobo Women’s basketball team. The Lobos used tough defense to hold Boise State to 27 percent shooting in a 63-50 victory. The Lobos held the Broncos to 22 points below their season average. Lobos senior guard Antiesha Brown led all scorers with 16 points and 6 rebounds.

Lobos junior guard Bryce Owens scored 15 points with 4 assists and 4 rebounds in the victory. The Lobos shot 42 percent for the game and got 29 points from their bench compared to only 12 for the Broncos. The Lobos also had the advantage in fast break points at 14 to nothing. With the win, the Lobos improve to 12 and 4 in Mountain West play and remain on the heels of league leading Colorado State. The Lobos will host Fresno State on Saturday.
