Performance brings people from around the world to ABQ

Up with People

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – One hundred people from 21 different countries are calling Albuquerque home this week.

They are part of Up with People, a non-profit organization that gets students from all over the world to perform in a show together. This is their 50th anniversary and volunteers tell us they sing songs spanning five decades.

Aside from the show, they’ll spend their extra time doing community projects across city.

The visitors are able to stay here thanks to the generosity of local families.

”All this week we are staying with host families all over albuquerque and that’s a really cool way to get to know the community better,” international ambassador Maria Sandbik said.

They’ll perform three times at the Hiland Theatre this weekend.
