Thousands sign up for NM health insurance

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The state’s health insurance exchange says almost 52,000 New Mexicans signed up for coverage before the final deadline.

Officials say that includes people who selected their plans and those who were automatically re-enrolled.

Those who haven’t signed up for health insurance yet, there is still a chance to avoid tax penalty.The Obama administration announced Friday, there will be a special enrollment period from March 15 until the end of  April.
