New Mexico State Wrestling wraps up

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE)- The final day of state wrestling wrapped up on Saturday at the Santa Ana Star Center. There were some great story lines in this year’s tournament. 4A best, and in most peoples minds the best wrestler in the state, Rico Montoya of Robertson won his 5th straight State title. In 4A Piedra Vistas Anthony Juckes also won his 5th straight state Title.

In 6A Rio Rancho would go on to win as a team for the 2nd year in a row, with an overall score of 252.5. Rio Rancho senior wrestler Miguel Barreras also would go on to win his 3rd straight state title. He also did this jumping up 20 LBS and wrestling at 182. He is now a state champion in football and wrestling this year
