ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE)- The Lobo Men’s Basketball team was looking to bounce back after their loss to San Diego State, well that didn’t happen on Saturday night. The Lobos lose to UNLV 76-68, this is the first time that the Lobos have lost 6 in a row since the 1970-71 season.
The Lobos looked ok early keeping the game within 5 at the half (UNM- 34 UNLV-39). The Lobos then seemed to falter on defense again in the 2nd half, as coach Neal said that they gave them too many open Shot. The Rebels shot 54 percent from the field in this game, where the Lobos only shot 42 percent.
Obij Aget would have himself another nice game in the loss, getting a team high of 14 points and 8 boards. Hugh Greenwood and Devon Williams would both have 13 points to finish this game, but it didn’t help that senior Deshawn Delaney only had 5 points and JJ Nganga had no points.
The Lobos will hit the road again to play Boise State on Tuesday. Tip off for that will be 9 p.m. and it will be shown on ESPNU.
