Holly Holm is healed and ready for UFC debut

ALBUQUERQUE, N. M. (KRQE) – A herniated disc prevented Holly Holm from making her first scheduled Ultimate Fighting Championship debut. The fight against Raquel Pennington was originally scheduled for December ,but Holm injured herself in November. Now the former world boxing champion is ready to battle in her first UFC fight.

Holm admits the pressure will be on her for UFC 184 but, it is a pressure that she embraces.”I find myself thinking when I am running, oh man what if I am in this bad position in the fight. I picture the walk out and I get really worked up and then I am like I’ve been there before,” said Holm.

Holm is just happy to be healthy after suffering a broken arm followed by a herniated disc. “I never had big injuries in my fighting career in my life. Both of them were back to back so it’s been something that I have had to overcome mentally back in training”, said Holm. “I’ve been wrestling a hundred percent with everybody on the team, the girls and the guys. I have been sparring a hundred percent. My arm feels great. My neck feels great.”

The undefeated Holm and Raquel Pennington will meet in Los Angeles February 28.
