SANTA FE (KRQE) – The Republican-backed right-to-work proposal is moving forward in the state House.

It would boost minimum wage fifty cents to $8 an hour and make New Mexico a right-to-work state.

Republicans are pitching it as a compromise that would make the state more economically competitive.

Democrats call the minimum wage hike proposed meager and say right-to-work is wrong for New Mexico workers.
