Annual March of Sorrow planned for Tuesday

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A popular business is helping to raise awareness for an important message.

Santa Fe Prevention Alliance is hosting their sixth annual DWI March of Sorrow, March of Hope. This unified walk plans to bring awareness to driving under the influence.

Marchers will walk in silence honoring those who lost their lives to a drunk driver.

The march will begin at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17. Participants will start at the State Capitol for the opening ceremony in the Rotunda and then begin to walk at 12:45 p.m.

AAA New Mexico directors are joining DWI Coordinators Affiliate and Mothers Against Drunk Driving to support the event.

AAA New Mexico is also asking for everyone to pledge to drive only while alcohol and drug free. Pledging is simple. Provide your name, email, and sip code and then “sign” by pushing the submit button.
