Cibola senior wins Gatorade award

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Sergio Rivas is a senior at Cibola High School. This past season his Cougars were ranked number 1 for most of the season before getting upset in the playoffs. During this last season, Rivas had 17 goals and 15 assists.

He was New Mexico’s top player for soccer and this award solidifies that. Sergio will go on to play in college at Seattle University. He signed his national letter of intent earlier this month. He is also going on an athletic scholarship, and he will be in Seattle this upcoming fall.
