Mark’s Friday Evening Weather Report

Perfect Valentine's Day

nm weather

Mostly sunny skies and warm temperatures will hold for the holiday weekend. Look for temperatures to top out around 66° in the Albuquerque metro area. Across the east side of the state temps will get into the low 70s. Changes start to roll in late Sunday with the back door cold front into the NE. This front will knock temperatures down a bit but it will get even colder by Tuesday. A storm system combined with another cold front on Tuesday will help provide the chance for snow across the northern mountains.  However the system is trending more and more toward being a scraper that provides just some snow showers and light snow accumulations versus a major winter storm.  Stay tuned over the weekend as we will continue to iron out the details.
It’s important to remember that our last system started to look like it wasn’t going to be a big factor and then it came around to have a pretty good punch.  Bottom line: don’t give up on this storm.  A little patience with this system may pay off.
