Española officer accused of trading ammo for T-shirts

ESPANOLA (KRQE) – The District Attorney’s Office is investigating an Española police officer accused of trading ammo for T-shirts.

According to the Santa Fe New Mexican, the police detective swapped department ammunition for shirts with the owner of a shirt company.

The report says the officer is not being named, but is currently on the force.

No word yet how much ammunition could have been traded.

According to the New Mexican, the DA is already investigating another detective in that same police department for mishandling evidence. There’s no word if the cases are linked.
