ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Due to the recent outbreak of measles around the U.S., Albuquerque Public Schools officials are enforcing immunizations for local students.
APS sent a letter with students Tuesday telling parents to vaccinate their kids, have proof they’re exempt or keep them home.
State law says parents must have vaccination records on hand or a waiver for medical or religious reasons.
APS said parents without exemptions will be given until Friday February 20th to present proof of up to date immunizations or the student cannot return until they do.
Santa Fe Public Schools made a similar move last week.
