TAOS, NM (KRQE) – The Taos district attorney and his top prosecutor are appearing before the Supreme Court Disciplinary Board Tuesday to answer allegations of alleged misconduct.
Prosecutor Emilio Chavez is accused of creating dozens of false subpoena’s in at least five cases between 2012 & 2013, seeking cell phone records, witness statements and CYFD records.
District attorney Donald Gallegos is accused of having knowledge of the misconduct and allowing it.
The Supreme Court disciplinary board is hearing evidence and if found guilty, both Gallegos and Chavez could face censure, suspension or be disbarred. A decision is not expected Tuesday however, KRQE News 13 will have the results of the hearing when it become available.
