Two High School coaches set records

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE)- High school basketball went on as usual on Friday night, but there were two coaches going for an amazing feat in their overall win column.

Frank Castillo is the head coach for the La Cueva boys basketball team, and on Friday night he was going for his 661st win as an Albuquerque Public School coach. This win would surpass APS coaching legend Jim Hulsman. The Bears took on a struggling Highland Hornets team and would end up beating them 44-37. That betters La Cuevas overall record to 8-13, but more importantly this win gave Castillo the title of APS Ahletics Winningest coach in history.

Hope Christians head coach Jim Murphy was also going for an amazing feat, and that was his 700th career victory as head coach. His Huskies took on Bosque and would end up winning easily 70-53. That betters this years team to 19-4 overall, and it gives coach Murphy a prestigious 700 career wins.
