Perry’s ‘Left Shark’ steals Super Bowl show

PHOENIX, ARIZ. (KRQE) – The star of Super Bowl 49 wasn’t Tom Brady or even Katy Perry. It was an uncoordinated backup dancer known as “Left Shark.”

As with all trends, people try to market and make money.

It looks like Perry’s legal team is taking a bite out of a “Left Shark” vendor. This comes after a businessman who has been selling left shark figurines was served with a cease-and-desist order.

In fact, Perry owns the rights to not only “Left Shark,” but to the palm trees, and dancing beach balls from her half-time show. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
