ABQ planetarium gets state-of-the-art upgrades

Local planetarium gets state-of-the-art upgrades

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – An already exciting place to visit just made some changes that made it even better.

The New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science Planetarium will reopen Friday with its First Friday Fractals.

There are two shows every first Friday at 6 and 7 p.m. These shows almost always sell out, so purchasing tickets online is suggested.

The museum’s planetarium has upgraded to brand new projectors that double resolution in both directions. The digital system upgrade can be compared to changing from an old CRT television to brand new flat screen.

The planetarium is the largest and most technologically-advanced planetarium in New Mexico with a 55-inch full dome theater.
