The 15th annual BNSF Railway’s World’s Largest Matanza is a two day event.

This event is going to be held at Eagle Park and around 20-thousand people have attended each year to enjoy a wide variety of food prepared by 19 different teams.

Live music, cooking competitions, arts and craft vendors, and for the kids there’s the Kiddie Korral. Kids can enjoy inflated jumpers, a climbing wall, games, and of course fun.

For the guests who are 21 and over there is a beer garden for your enjoyment.

If you have a recipe for tortillas, red chile or biscochito’s whip some up and bring them down to enter them in the cooking contest.

Gates open at 7am to 3pm on Friday and Saturday. VIP parking is available for $5 or there is a shuttle that can take you to and from the event.

All the proceeds are to benefit the Hispano Chamber of Valencia County. The World’s Largest Matanza has provided $150,000 in scholarships to almost 200 Valencia County students.
