ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A campaign is hoping to raise cash for an Albuquerque officer who is facing murder charges.
Dominique Perez is one of two cops charged in the shooting death of homeless camper James Boyd.
This past week, an online fundraising page was set up to raise $100,000 to help pay for Perez’s legal defense.
So far, more than $4,000 has been raised. Among the contributors are retired APD Commander Daniel Cafferkey and former Deputy Chief Ed Sauer.
Perez and Sandy’s cases are set to go before a judge who will determine whether there’s probable cause for criminal charges to go forward.
