Metro area kids make most of snowfall

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The snow that slammed the metro area on Wednesday morning made for extra work for some adults. For students, though, the late start to the school day meant extra time to play in the fresh powder.

Some kids broke out their sleds, while others took part in good old-fashioned snowball fights.

From the Westside to the Northeast Heights, everyone wanted to build a snowman.

As quickly as the snow fell, it also disappeared, turning at least one snowman into a mudman.

“I think I should make him take a bath,” Shane Haney of Rio Rancho told KRQE News 13.

“We put a crown on him, put some eyes and a nose and teeth. Of course, they keep falling out. That’s what happens when you get old and you’re melting,” Kevin Haney said.
