ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A blast of winter weather brought snow and cold temperatures to New Mexico.
Some people in Albuquerque woke up Friday to a layer of snow on the ground, just a few hours shy of a white Christmas.
“I love it. It’s great,” said Paula Metzner, who was walking her 4-month-old dog in the snow.
“I wanted to walk out here and get some of the snow before it melted,” said Jacquelyn Robins.
The dusting of snow that residents in Nob Hill saw is nothing compared to what people woke up to in the East Mountains.
KRQE News 13 received reports of more than seven inches of snow east of Albuquerque and in the Tijeras area, including swirling snow causing near white-out conditions.
From the NMRoads.com live traffic cameras showed I-25 near Raton was snow packed and icy on Friday morning.
Tobey Cockrell submitted an iReport stating he measured nine inches of packed powder in Kirtland, in San Juan County.
