Man accidentally shot by police has no plans to sue

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The man accidentally shot by an Albuquerque police officer has said that for now he has no plans to sue the department.

APD said Officer Tamas Nadas was investigating a burglary on Dec 14 when he tripped and his gun went off. The bullet went through the floor and hit Ramiro Armendariz in the back. Armendariz was in his apartment in a complex near Louisiana and Zuni.

Armendariz underwent surgery and was released from the hospital earlier this week. He said he hasn’t spoken with an attorney has been focused on getting better.

Officer Nadas was placed on administrative leave.
