ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The University of Texas at El Paso, head cheerleading coach, David Vasquez was arrested Thursday night in Albuquerque for aggravated DWI.

Court records obtained by KRQE News 13 say Vasquez was arrested just before 2 a.m. Friday morning on an aggravated DWI charge. Police say he was driving at a high rate of speed near 2nd Street and Copper Avenue when he was pulled over. He and five other passengers were not wearing seat belts.

Vasquez failed a field sobriety test and refused to take a breathalyzer test.
