Rail Yards Market reaches compromise with city

The Railyards

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – It looks like a compromise has been reached for another year of the popular Rail Yards Farmers Market.

The non-profit group behind it wanted to hold the event every Sunday during the summer. But the city wanted to limit that time so it can rent out the space at the old rail yards downtown for other events.

Friday the city said it met with the Barelas Community and came up with an agreement.

The farmers market can rent the Rail Yards for the first three Sundays of the month, as well as hold a mid-week market. And the fourth Sunday will be available for other events, such as weddings and car shows.
