A powerful storm system over California will roll into New Mexico over the weekend. The storm is coming in two parts. The first part will be a cold front which will plow through the state during the day on Saturday. That front will spread showers through the four corners and snow into the mountains. Meanwhile here in the metro area we will likely see rain showers and very gusty winds as the front comes through Saturday evening.
Then the low pressure core of the system will roll through during the day on Sunday. The track on the low is a little too far north to involve the whole state. But from the metro area northward we will have a chance at some snow showers and the north mountains could pile up some hefty snow amounts. As the storm clears the state late on Sunday skies will clear out with it leading to a nice day Monday. Don’t get used to the nice weather though, another powerful system is headed into the state by Wednesday.
