CLOVIS, N.M. (KRQE) – The man accused of killing a Clovis woman on a walking trail was indicted Friday on first-degree murder and tampering with evidence charges.

Matthew Jennings, 25, is suspected of stabbing Ariel Ulibarri multiple times at Goodwin Lake Trails on Nov. 9. Ulibarri’s son was present during the attack.

Jennings told police he was hired to kill Ulibarri, but they do not believe him. Officials say he is being held at the Curry County Adult Detention Center without bond. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
