Chris’ Friday Afternoon Forecast

Clouds are increasing ahead of our larger storm that is going to bring wind, rain, snow, and colder temperatures to New Mexico this weekend.   This afternoon will be another day with filtered sunshine and warmer than normal temperatures.   Saturday will start off on the quiet and nice note before showers begin around midday in far Western New Mexico.   The showers will then roll in to central New Mexico around dinner time into the evening hours.   Temperatures will be too warm to support snow in Albuquerque.  But, the East Mountains and Northern Mountains will get a good dose of snow.   Some areas above 85000 feet could get 6-8″ or more of snow by Sunday afternoon.   The wind will crank on Saturday and they’ll stay strong on Sunday with colder, more seasonable air moving back in.
