Local curator wins New Mexico-Arizona book award

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Dr. Spencer Lucas, in collaboration with others from the Museum of Natural History and Science, wrote and published the book “Dinosaur Century”, which covers a century of time that the dinosaurs walked on New Mexican soil. Many of the dinosaurs you see in the book can actually been seen on exhibit in the museum. The book has just recently won the 2014 New Mexico-Arizona Book Award for best book in the category of Nature/Environment.

The New Mexico-Arizona Book Awards are given out by the New Mexico Book Co-op, New Mexico and Arizona’s largest non-profit cooperative organization featuring New Mexico and Arizona books, publishers, and authors. They are a partnership of over 1,400 publishers and authors who are interested in showcasing and selling books about New Mexico, Arizona, and the Southwest. They showcase and sell books, and help people meet these goals.

This was a big win for Dr. Lucas and the museum. You can find the book at the museum, or learn more about it here.
