A storm system is going to be diving into the region later on tonight and this will crank up the wind for New Mexico. The wind is starting to pick along the central mountain chain and in eastern New Mexico. By midnight all of us will be feeling the wind or hearing it blow things around outside. The wind is all associated with a cold front that will drop our temperatures by 10°-20° for Monday afternoon. There’s a slight chance for some snow showers in our Northern Mountains with this cold front tonight, but most of the snow will fall in the San Juans of Southern Colorado. That is where Winter Weather Advisories are up for 6-12″ of snow.
